Privacy
Impossible is an independent catalog of third-party game projects. You can browse and use the installation guides without an account.
Installation progress
We store guide progress and your setup choices in your browser’s local storage. These functional records remain on your device. You can remove them through your browser’s site-data settings or start a guide over. Clearing site data also removes saved progress.
Release emails
If you request alerts, we store your email, the project you follow (or all new drops), confirmation and notification timestamps, and hashed confirmation and unsubscribe tokens in Supabase. Resend delivers confirmation and release emails. We send release alerts only after you confirm. Every notification includes a link to unsubscribe.
Unsubscribing stops future notifications for that subscription. To request deletion of subscription or contact records, use our contact form. Pending confirmation tokens expire after 24 hours; abuse-limit records are temporary.
Product analytics
We collect limited events such as project views, opening a Peek, starting or completing an install guide, clicking an official download, searching, and following a release. Records may include the project, step or file identifier, timestamp and campaign labels from the URL. We do not store your search text or attach your email to product events.
A random session identifier and campaign attribution are stored in session storage for the browser session. We do not use advertising trackers, precise location or device fingerprinting. The client respects your browser’s Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Official download redirects can carry the same temporary session identifier and campaign labels; confirmation events only identify the project scope.
External sources and abuse prevention
Creator-hosted images and video thumbnails may load from GitHub, X or YouTube. Those providers receive ordinary web requests, including your IP address. YouTube videos use its privacy-enhanced player and load only when you choose to play them. Creator-hosted videos and X posts load when you open their media viewer. X posts use X’s own embed with its personalization opt-out enabled; third-party players and embeds receive web requests and follow their own privacy policies. Opening a source or download leaves Impossible and is subject to that provider’s privacy policy.
To limit abuse of public forms, the server briefly stores salted hashes derived from request addresses, never the raw address in our application tables. Infrastructure providers may retain their own operational request logs. No tracking cookies are set by Impossible.
Contact requests
We store the reply address, optional name, request type and message you submit so that we can review corrections, attribution claims and copyright requests. When configured, we forward a notification to our contact inbox through Resend. Please include only information needed to handle your request.
